Frequently Asked Questions
What video formats are supported?
The extractor supports any video format your browser can play, including MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP8/VP9), MOV, OGG, and more. MP4 is the most widely supported format across all browsers.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens 100% in your browser using the Web Audio API and JavaScript. Your video never leaves your device. No data is sent to any server.
What audio formats can I export?
You can export as MP3 or WAV. WAV provides uncompressed lossless audio, while MP3 is smaller in file size and widely compatible with all devices and players.
Can I extract just a portion of the audio?
Yes! Use the timeline handles or type precise start and end times to select exactly which portion of the audio you want to extract. You can also use Quick Select buttons for common ranges.
What if my video has no audio track?
The tool will attempt extraction but the result will be silent. Most video files include an audio track even if it contains silence. The tool will warn you if no audio data is detected.
Is there a file size or duration limit?
There is no hard limit, but very long videos (over 10 minutes) may take more time to process depending on your device. For best performance, we recommend videos under 500MB.
Will the audio quality match the original?
WAV output preserves the full decoded audio quality. MP3 is re-encoded at 192kbps which provides near-CD quality. The output quality depends on the audio quality embedded in the original video.
